Since these frescoes were painted after the church thought it best to remove anything "disorderly, profane, or indecorous," Most of the women in them are either fully or partially clothed. Generally only the body parts being tortured are exposed. One notable exception is the woman being burned alive in the background of this fresco. I would assume that hiding her in the background made it easier to show her in only a shee piece of cloth draped around her waist.
