PDF annotation apps allow you to highlight and take notes on PDF documents. This can be very helpful as most journal articles are generally downloaded as PDF documents. Each app has its own specific features so it should be easy to find one that will work well for you. Some of these are free, while others provide advanced features for a one time fee, or as a subscription. These are only a sampling as there are many more of these types of apps available.
